Policies

Bay State Skating School is not responsible for any changes in time, location or cancellation of classes beyond our control.
Bay State Skating School, its directors, officers, instructors, assistants and other staff will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained by students in its program of lessons.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to class time to lace skates and be on the ice at
the the start of each class.
This is not a drop-off program.

| Classes |
Class includes a 25 minute lesson and a 25 minute practice.
NO refunds, transfers, or make-up classes.
$25 charge for any returned checks.
Only registered skaters are allowed on the ice.
Skating helmets required for children ages 4 - 9 and strongly recommended for all students.
No gum chewing, eating or playing games on the ice. |

| Storm cancellations |
Class is cancelled only when the rink is closed.
Cancellation announcements are aired on radio WRKO and on TV 5 (ABC) and TV 7 (NBC).
Cancellation information is posted on our website home page and may also be accessed by calling our office phone. |

| Information on skates |
You must supply your own skates.
Use sharpened figure or hockey skates.
No double runners.
Skates must fit for current season.
Skates that are big hinder progress.
Use sturdy skates for support.
Pull laces tight at the ankles.
Ankles should be up straight not tipping in or out.
Do not walk on cement without skate guards. |

| What to wear |
Wear only 1 pair of light or medium socks.
Wear warm and comfortable clothes.
Hat, gloves or mittens recommended.
